I doubt there's a prob with the unit. More then likely a problem is the tune or user error. It'd suck to spend all the money sending it back only to still have the same problems when you get it back

Hmmm, well did anything look out of place in the screen caps that I uploaded?

Not nessasarily. But I also couldn't see what each setting was on the option and confit screens. But if it cranks, has fuel pressure, has spark, and injection pulse, it should start. If not gotta be outta time or the ecu is set up for a diff timing method. What's the timtrim at and what's the static at

For starters your mix trim on screen 30 is +30%. That's adding 30% fuel to everything.
Go to screen 29,30, and 31 and highlight each box and take a screen cap of that also. That's all your setting and options. After seeing how far skewed the mixtrim was I'm almost positive there some screwy settings in there that are messed up.

Silly question - I know that the X6 boxes can be quite fussy about grounding AND that it is a pain ground the plug directly to the motor for testing, so I have soldered a wire to a spare spark plug, and then grounded that wire to the block.

I have less than 1 ohm of resistance between the spark plug now and the body.. Is this an okay way to test for spark? I have done this with other ECUs, but I know that the X6 and X4 can be problematic if not grounding directly to the block.

Less than a ohm is fine. That's pretty much a direct short. You'd be hard pressed to prob get any lower just by putting Thr two leads a couple inches apart on the same piece of metal

But def get screen shots of all the boxes on those three screens. Something is prob screwed up on those just seeing how far out the mixtrim is

The only thing that looks off is the mix trim. Set that back to 0%

Have you verified you have spark and fuel pressure?

Thanks, Ill set it back to 0 and give it a shot.

I still need to test for fuel pressure, BUT I am thinking about just installing the new rails and injectors if the mix-trim doesn't fix the issue. At least that way, I will have a pressure gauge on the fuel line.

Found something interesting. I went to test the spark and the coils blew a 75amp fuse whilst trying to fire...

Seems like I have found the first issue. From my understanding, coils do not care about polarity - but this has me wondering.

Most coils are still marked pos and neg. I'd err on the side of caution and wire them appropriately. Obv something is shorted out if your blowing that fuse. Take the time to double check all you wiring again

The coils don't have any markings on them unfortunately. The closest thing i can find is that the wiring diagram labels the vertical tabs as positive amd the horizontal is negative.

I measured the coil resistence and i am getting about 1.5 ohms on each coil. Does that sound right?

All six coils now have spark, but no luck starting yet.

I got it to kick over for a brief moment but only after I had it in test mode. There must have been enough fuel in it from the test.

Aftermarket injectors and rails are going in tonight.
