Microtech laptop software help

I finally got my microtech wired in to my vw bug's cosmo 13b rotary engine and I went out and bought a 6 foot 9pin cord to go from the ecu to the computer. When I went to press f1 to initialize connection between the ecu and computer, nothing appears and all the values are at 0%. I decided to try and start the engine, got it started, nothing changed on the software values... Did I hook something up
wrong? Any help is appreciated!!!

BTW, I have the microtech lt10s with x4 box.

You need to purchase the laptop adapter in order to interface with a laptop computer. It's a black dongle that connects inline between the 9pin serial cable and the serial port on the computer.

You can get it from "Japan2LA" on this forum, he's an MT dealer I purchased mine from.

i also have a spare if you can't get a hold of him. they are rather pricey though, to keep in mind, mainly because the adapter is what saves the maps.
