Microtech Help...

Hey guys, I am new here and I need some help. I would have posted this in the Microtech section but this said "New Members Techincal" so I chose here. Also, not a lot of Supra guys use Microtech in the States and I know RX-7 guys use them, so I believe this would be the best place to get help.

I bought a 89 Supra with a 2JZ in it and it has a microtech LT12 standalone. The car was running but horribly and after adjusting the maps, I got a little better. My problem is that I am in NY and it is cold outside, 17F and the Supra refuses to start. When we push the car in the shop, leave it overnight, it will start the next morning but after being outside the whole day and getting cold, it won't start. I tried to look around for a base map because the owner said all the settings was changed when he got the car "tuned."

After my research, I found out that there is no "base map." There are a bunch of settings that you have to do. I also contacted Microtech and they said that they won't give me the settings to the base map and the only way for me to get it is to by the laptop adapter for $90.00. I also asked how do I load a map and the response I got was to look in the manual. I did and I found was something explaining to use "M" and "P" on the keyboard, so I am not to use on that.

The car runs geat under boost, hold an 11.5 but when it is cold, it misses, dumps fuel and stalls when starting for the first time. I tried pulling fuel on the maps when cold but that helped a little, not much. It went through $30 of regular in one day just idling. I don't know what the timing setting for static timing should be and if what is there is the correct setting right now. Basically, I want to return the ECU back to factory settings as much as possible.

My two questions are:

1) How do I load a map on the LT-12?

2) Does anyone have the 2JZ stock settings that I can use to get this car started? Basically, I want to return the ECU back to factory settings as much as possible.

Thanks.

stock maps on microtech are just to ge the car started, you need to get the car tuned, usually when you have trouble starting the car when is cold it means that it needs more fuel on the crank maps, if you post on the microtech section maybe you get more help.

You can only load a map saved on a dongle as the Microtech can't save to disk.

You can access these functions on screen 34.

Can't help on the base maps for the Supra. It just sounds like your car needs to be tuned.
