Lt10's & Autometer RPM fulse reading???
Not sure why but my Autometer rpm gage is giving me a fulse reading, when wired to my Lt10's ecu. I have both the stock s3 rx7 rpm gage & the autometer gage wired to the ecu. The stock gage gives correct reading, but the autometer gage is about 400rpm behind at idle. Have tried running each gage on their own but no change, runs the same as both connected. The autometer gage was running fine wired to a v6 engine with stock ecu. Not sure if this is a common problem or em i doing something wrong? Or is there any way to rectify this problem?

Go to the AutoMeter website and download the manual for the tach. You'll need to either cut a specific wire, connect a wire to ground or 12V, or flip a jumper/DIP switch.

Pritty sure that this is the problem, just cant find any info on how to fix. Couldnt find the manual anywhere on the Autometer site, even searched on google, still nothing. The tacho is a black 5" AutoGage, white #'s 10krpm, with stand alone 1" yellow shift light by Autometer same as the old school one from back in the day. If anyone knows how to change the gage from 6cyl to 4cyl please post. Thanks again all.

Its ok, i've worked it out :-) found some info about how to charge from 4/6/8cyl, with Autometer tacho. "It said to unsrew the small scew and remove backing of tacho. In side there are 2 small switches. To change setting too 4cyl= sw1:off | sw2:off, 6cyl= sw1:off | sw2:on, 8cyl= sw1:on | sw2:on". Ok, so i removed tacho from bracket and went to pull backing off, but there was no scew, backing was sealed. Aaron Cake said something about cutting wires, so i check the wires coming out back of tacho. Found 2 short looped wires one orange, the other brown. The orange wire was still looped, the brown wire was cut. I worked out that these looped wires act as switches and where switched on/off = 6cyl. So i figured cut the brown looped wire, off/off = 4cyl, bingo i was right :-) correct reading :-) thanks Aaron Cake and rx72c, respect.
