LT10c configuration questions

Many years ago i was a distributor for Microtech systems for a brief period of time. I recall that each one was configured at the time of purchase at the factory for the individual application. More specifically, it needed to be known what engine model, what ignition pickup, throttle position sensor, and a number of other criteria in order to have it setup prior to delivery as these parameters were not user definable through the consumer level tuning platform.

i'm wondering if any of that has changed in recent years. i'm looking at a secondhand LT10c that was configured for an FD. My application is a common hybrid of an FD 13B REW in an FB using an FC CAS.

I recall that these limitations in user configurability were something that hindered the resale of their units and prevented a lot of if not all platform swapping as it would require shipping the unit back to australia to be reconfigured.

Thanks for any input!

-Ray

They are still configured like that, each ecu has a daughter board specific to the crank sensor/engine it was ordered for; FC, FD, Nissan, ect. TPS would be the same 0-5v along with almost everything else but the crank signal input may not work which also happen to be the most important. I realized this when i had to do some pcb repair along with sending a unit back for a replacement sister board, miswired our coils...
If its a good enough deal i wonder if swapping to a FD CAS would be feasible...not sure about that though.

I circled the sister board in red thats for crank input.

wow, that brings back some memories… I remember almost 25 years ago my friend Brandon was taking his LTX8 apart trying to reverse engineer it. I recall a message printed on the board like “don’t give up” or “try harder” or something similar right where the board would stop if you were trying to slide it out of the case.

Funny enough there were a few components in the ignition circuit that had there numbers ground off haha, thankfully they didn't have to get replaced. I was able to figure what most of the hardware was, but i never dared to actually look into the firmware which is way over me, glad i could remind you of your friend. Seems there's some other guys with the same idea https://www.rx7club.com/microtech-11...rmware-985053/
