Question ignition coil wiring question?

when I used my multi-tester both wires of the ignition coil get power 12v when on should I get only one side 12v and the other nothing? I made sure I didnt cross anything everything looks good except the reading

Car? ECU? Which coil? Where are you measuring?

If this is a 2nd gen (most common...) then you can get your 12V IGN power from the black/yellow wire at either the trailing or leading coil. There are two such wires at the trailing, one at the leading.
