Hand Controller VS Dongle+Laptop Software
I was curious how the dongle and laptop software stack up versus the hand controller. I've never used the laptop software before and the hand controller is fine for the most part other then having to go through a lot of screens to get to the one you want. Just curious what experience people have had that have used both. I was considering selling my hand controller and getting the dongle instead and using my netbook to tune.

The laptop software basically has a graphical hand controller screen on the left side and mimics the hand controller. Kind of silly.
But on the right side you have a 2D representation on the table you are editing which you can directly manipulate (the screens on the hand controller change to follow). There are also menu shortcuts to easily get you to the various screens. Rudimentary data logging is included, along with a full gauge screen.
So much better to use than the hand controller, but about 2 decades behind other standalones like the Haltech, Megasquirt, Wolf, etc.

hmm that is a thought but if I had the dongle with my laptop i doubt I would use my hand controller. I guess time to sell my hand controller and get the dongle!
