Hello,

Please help me, I have an S4 and trying to install an Microtec LT10S with stock coil packs and I couldnīt find an discription how I should wire the leading coil.
All diagrams I found are for the LT8.

This is what I know:

blue/yellow - grey/black
brown/yellow - grey/red
green/yellow - ???????????

Thankīs a lot,

Hey mate. Looks like your reading colours off the loom side of the plug.

the grey/blue wire goes on the PINK wire(on the leading coil pack side).

Hello,

I had finnished the wireing and the engine runs and starts very good, but I have one problem.
There is no timing difference between the leading and trailing coil.
I donīt change the timing setting, so there should be 10° to 15° igniton timing difference.
Have anybody an idea?

Thanks Chris

Damn. Thats interesting.

How sure are you that your car is programmed for factory coil packs and not for X4box.

Check your trigger wires once again and make sure they are in the right place.

How can this check out?

And why is this important?
In both methods there should be 10° to 15° ignition timing difference.

Thanks
Roland

if its setup for an x4 box, the way it triggers the coil packs is different so it could cause problems such as the above.
Who did you buy the computer from?

Hallo Roland,

du auch hier.
In der Software gibt es eine Einstellung bezüglich der Zündgeräte, die aber soweit ich mich erinnern kann richtig eingestellt ist.

I think that I have the right setting for the original igniters, but I will check it egain and will check all other ignition lines with an oscilloscope perhapps I find the right one.

Thanks
Chris.

Have you gone into your microtech and checked your split settings to? Make sure their is split set their.

I think the above is happening because some how the trailing coil packs are using the leading trigger.

If you mean the t°gap setting, there are the original settings between 15° and 10° ignition difference, I also tried to change the setting, without any change at the timing.
At weekend Iīll see the car again, then Iīll try more things.

Thanks,
Chris

As fas as i have been told yes. When the load the ecu with the map etc the x4 box and stock is different.

Look. The way you have wired it. it should work correctly. Just to be sure, you definitely have wired it to the ignitor and not directly to the coil pack?

If you have wired it correctly.

msg RXENG on microtechefi.com

and he will tell you how to tell what map is in it. this is something i dont know. never had to deal with it as a problem.

Hello,

I looks like we have finished the problem.
Today we checked all igniton outputs with an oscilloscope and we found the right connection for the leading coil, itīs the grey/white and not the grey/blue cable.

Thanks,
Chris

Thats very interesting.
Something i have encountered. But not sure if it is the problem in this case.
When microtech looms are made the wires are you put on the wrong pins, hence the wrong colours doing the wrong thing, have you checked for this?
