I decided to smooth out my Idle Maps today. With good success I shut my car off to cool down. A short while later I started It up again to find out I had Errors on both Error Check screen 1 & 2.

Under screen 1 ~ Error - Ref
Under screen 2 ~ Error - RPM

I do believe this was talked about before (I'm not sure to what extent). I've searched but couldn't find what I was looking for. What are these Errors? What may have caused them and how do you corect these?

 

I used to get rpm errors every so often, but only when the car had died from the electrical load. since i've richened up my idle map i havent seen it again. I got the REF error once too but i have no idea what from. Sorry, i'd like to know as well.

 

Okay, It gets stranger now...

B'c I was abit mistified on these errors, I went out again to see If I missed or overlooked something...well I'll be damned! It was gone.

Is there an explanation for this? What Is Error - Ref & RPM mean?

 

RPM error is a botched signal from the CAS, typically caused by the wiring for the signal pickup picking up (pun!) eletrical interference.

Ref...dunno right now, it's still early in the AM

 

Try to route your CAS shielded wire away from the alternator wires and pretty much every other wire.

 

A clear definition on these would be an asset.
