Direct Drop-in? LT8 to LT10S

I've been running an LT8 for almost two years now. I would like to use the 2-step feature more often; however, I'm using the auxilliary input for something else so it's a PITA. Anyways, I have a friend who may buy my LT8 if I know I can just buy the LT10S and drop it right in (to get the extra input).

Do you guys see any reason why I couldn't just copy the map from the the LT8 to the LT10S and drop the LT10S right in to the existing wiring? Are there any other benefits to the LT10S?

Dale,

Can you clarify on what a plug is? Is the harness different?

Jon told me he got a "one off" conversion plug from an old LTX12 -> LT10 but it wasn't possible to do it with an 8.
