Can a used fuel computer be trusted?

I have the opportunity to buy a used Micro tech computer, can It be trusted or do these sorta things not age or get worn out?

The ECU itself is quite reliable. Not like there are moving parts to fail. But if it was mistreated, you may find inputs or outputs blown.

Also, why even bother unless it is REALLY cheap and to be used on a drag car? The Microtech is way behind the times.
