Latest...solved the problem. Must have been a stuck float (stuck "down") I got access to the front float chamber by loosening the screws that hold the top section of the carb, jiggled it up and down, and that apparently worked.

Had another problem with a banjo bolt washer not sealing, so had to replace that.
Warmed her up today, went for a short drive and all seems well. May need an idle adjustment.

Plan to feed a steady diet of ethanol-free gas from now on. Not sure if that was a problem or not, but might as well. It wasn't designed for ethanol and I don't like the idea of ethanol in gasoline anyway.

next up - tires, wheels?, alignment

Problem still nagging...tried today after cleaning the carb. Found ethanol-free gas close by. Debating my next move...
Remove carb and check the front float? Stuck needle?

Currently troubleshooting a flooding issue that happened last time I started her. flooded secondaries...lots of good info on the forum. Pulled the carb, reset the float levels at spec values for both positions. One needle may have been sticking a bit, maybe that was the problem. Sprayed carb cleaner in every orifice I could find. I'm going to reinstall the carb and see if that did the trick.
I'm also going to keep seafoam in the tank, and going to look for ethanol-free gasoline. Since I don't drive her frequently, a clean fuel system seems like a prerequisite to keeping the carb out of trouble.
