    "My SA ignition burned itself out after running the 2G coils. Not sure if it was the
    ignitors though because the little circuit board in the SA control box had some
    scorch marks on it. The symptoms when your SA ignition fails will be it starts up cold
    fine but when it gets warm it will start to miss and when it gets hot it will fail to run.
    Once it cools it will work ok, lather rinse repeat until it happens so fast you can't
    drive anywhere. At first you will think its something else and eventually it will strand you somewhere.

    So I am having this exact problem with my 1980 but couldn't get any info on how you rectified the problem what do i need to swap out i already ordered a msd blaster high vibration coil after waitign for a fuel pump that didnt fix the problem obviousily

    not sure but the distributor is way advanced trailing was brought up too. its advaced by the shop i go too. i needed to fix my trottle cable it was binding and not opening all the way. im thinking about putting it on dyno again it feels faster by far. also gettin msd6a refurbished for $100! im wanting 150hp 160hp . it feels that much faster with just the cable.

    i saw your post on 1st gen dyno what size carb you run ? i make 127 whp 112 wtq with stock port 12a oer 47 carb sp header and dellorto manifold ! did 2nd gen ignition make a noticeable differenc? im just trying to squeeze a little more for cheep
