VE tuning question

I am tuning my table for high boost right now, doing short runs datalogging then making adjustments based on the log data. I am running into the 140's in my VE1 table, I know I need larger secondaries but am I running any risk to my current injectors running over 100% VE at high boost ?

VE (in the MS world's VE tables) is just a relative multiplier that is one of several variables that ultimately determine injector pulse width. A 140+ VE value is perfectly OK provided reqfuel, etc., is set up in a rational manner. The VE bins can take up to 255 as a valid value. The log item you need to be concerned with is Duty Cycle - most authorities recommend no more than 80-85% to be safe.

So to be perfectly clear, if you're going over 80% duty cycle, get bigger secondaries, and stop tuning for now.

You may also want to check to make sure your fuel pressure/flow are adequate.

I'm seeing duty cycles of 120% so I'd say i need bigger injectors, also i believe my fuel pump (stock) is running out of fuel. I am waiting for delivery of a super tt pump and larger secondaries.

I put in some 1000cc secondaries yesterday and from what i saw while driving my dutycycle 2 is hitting 100% , I adjusted my scale factor to 182 which should be right with 550 pri and 1000 sec. Am I missing something ?

Ignore dutycycle2. It is meaningless unless you are running dual table configuration. Dutycycle1 is your injector dutycycle. If below the staging point, only primaries are firing at this DC. If above, all are firing at this DC. Your 182 factor looks fine.

Ok thanks Renns back to tuning, although I am being very careful as my stock fuel pump just isn't able to keep up and I've had a couple nasty cut outs. I should have my replacement Monday, if Canada post gets there act together....
