Using unused DB37 pins?

I'm working on setting up my v2.21 board, and I'm out of spare pins already. I'm using X11-X13 for the ignition outputs, X14 is going for an e-fan but i need more to bring the remaining CAS signal in. I've seen a lot of people add additional connectors to the front/side of the case to use those extra pins as well. What I was curious is if I could unsolder say pin's 1,2, and 3 on the DB37, bend the leg upwards and solder directly to that (i'll heatshrink the connection, and hot glue the pins in place so they don't move/can't get pulled out). I was just curious if there'd be any negative side effect to this. There seems to be a lot of them that are grounded and not used for anything in particular, and i know the V3 boards can use some of those right off the board. Any ideas? It'll be a MS-II using the Zeal daughterboard, and i'd also like to run a pair of solenoids as well, so i'd eventually need about 5 extra pins.

A lot of people cut an extra hole in the case and run a db15 there for the extra pins. That's what I used to do with the old 2.2 boards.

That's what I was thinking of doing at first, but I was having a hard time finding a place where it'd fit nicely and not interfere with other things, that and I figured it'd look a lot cleaner with just the 1 single connector, instead of two with only about 3 wires running to the second. I've got a spare DB37, so I figured I could just pull out some of those first couple of grounds (pin's 1-3) and bend the leads up, solder to those, and then hot glue them to the top of the DB37 so they're out of the way and won't interfere with anything. I was just curious to know if doing it this way would cause any issues with noise/etc, but I have a hard time thinking that'd be possible as the V3 boards use those.
