Megasquirt trailling causing problems
trailling causing problems
My car gets really bad spark knock when I have trailling plugs on. I didn't have this problem till I rebuild engine (blew coolant seal). Put engine back in now I have this problem. I have to unhock the Igt-T to get them to stop and the car work excellent no knock. I check the timing 15 times and it looked good. I tried changing trailling map to see if it would go away. Any suggestion The only thing change in the rebuilt were coolant seal and middle iron ( piece broke out in O-ring grove). The middle iron was out of a NA so port are smaller but I don't think that would cause the problem.
I gave up trying to fix it just hooked tach up to the leading coil. Car works great on just leading don't know what the trailling does but I feel no difference. I tried a timing light on the trailing plug they are way out can't even see any timing marks. I think they are firing backwards. Double checked everything can't seem to fiqure it out. All I changed was the engine no other setting or wires.
Have you confirmed that both trailing plugs are firing? Just slap on a timing light and see which plugs are firing.
If they are not, I will refer you to a thread where I ran into something similar - wound up being a setting that 'changed' during an update past 029t.

I reloaded the code and checked all my wires still can't find nothing. I going to build a second vr circuit and try that setup vs the missing tooth. For now I will just run leading seems to work just fine that way.
