why is it every time i wire the tps into the MS the MS shuts off? however when i put the tps signal to the reference wire it shows full voltage so the MS is working right? and the tps tested good please help ...if anyone is in the bear DE area and would like to help i would greatly appreciate it please let me know thank you

 

also i am running with the stock B&G code for now and not msns or any of those i just need to get it running soon with or without MS please help

 

Sounds like a wiring harness or tps problem. Check for a short between 5v TPS reference voltage and ground.

 

both untis work correctly the ms and the tps as far as wiring trued different ways when i hook it up the wsy its supposed to it shuts off the MS system

 

I had the same problem, try changing the wires around till you get the right wires hooked up. The ms unit goes into a protection mode when the tps is hooked up wrong. Dont get discouraged, it's a simple fix.

 

Spend a couple minutes with a meter to figure out which wire is which on the TPS. Then connect it properly and see if the problem still exists.

 

yeah i did that i tested reference and everything i get 5v in and when i hook the MS up one way i get the same WOT and closed throttle results or the numbers are to low when i hook the ms up the way it should be it shuts down the ms no matter which way i try hooking the ms up i get poor results or none at all HA man this sucks thanks for the help guys

 

Do you have a stimulator to test functionality of the MS box? Does the TPS input work as expected?

The only way I can see shutting down MS with TPS is by shorting the 5V reference line. If you can't figure it out, post up a pic of the TPS you are using. Label the wires 1, 2, 3. Measure and post resistance readings between each pair. Note which resistance values change when moving the TPS. Then we can tell you which wire goes to which terminal on the MS harness.

 

i will do that thank you also where do i hoo up the ign wire? and could it be because im trying to splice it into the connections with the stock ecu still hooked up?

 

If you are trying to splice into the harness with the stock ecu hooked up you will have serious issues unless you really know what you are doing and make appropriate mods to MS to suit.

 

well i cut it now and am running right from the ms i tested my tps and where i have 5 V coming in i hoked up the 5vref wire and where i have signal coming out and changing on the tps is where i hooked up my signal wire and then i grounded the ground but when i hook it up like the the ms shuts off also i am using B&G original code for the time being
