Time Based or Trigger Return setting.

When should time base be used instead of the trigger return setting in the spark setting area? I am using trigger return with MS1 and see others using time based some times.

Time based fires the spark a set time (based on RPM) after the leading edge of the (VR, Hall) trigger is received while trigger return fires it at the falling edge. Trigger return will give you a better signal but I believe support differs based on software.

You also have to stab your CAS a certain way to use trigger return properly. You have to figure out what angle your return tooth is at, and if it's between -5 and 0 degrees, it should work. Otherwise you should use time-based or restab your CAS so the return tooth is at the correct location.
