Could you elaborate on the TB mod you speak of? I'm only familiar with the 2nd gen one, and even then, what's involved depends on who you ask.

I have some GSL-SE throttle bodies at my shop. I'll take a look and post back with what I find.

http://fc3spro.com/TECH/HOWTO/TBM/tbm.html this is the TB mod i was talking about. after a lil reading and examining my tb i completed this mod with just changing a few things. got to get shorter screws for the throttle return spring bracket and that is mostly it. still need to get an npt tap and plug the throttle shaft holes.

OK, I took a look at a GSL-SE throttle body.

Looks like exactly the same procedure would apply to the 2nd gen throttle. The tertiary throttle plates can be removed in the same way, and if you wish, the cold start cam and thermowax are basically the same.

In theory, going to a 2nd gen intake should net you about 10 HP as that's really the only thing that changed from the SE to the S4 besides the ECU. I suspect the S4 upper will bolt to the SE lower without too many issues. As I have both at my shop, I'll check this afternoon.

If you are using closed-loop idle control with the BAC, then you can remove the cold start cam/thermowax without any real negatives, but for drivability and to keep the car from stalling out too much when cold, id keep the return damper
