Exclamation Things we have learned so far

Ok, i'm back in the game, I just got my engine running again today. I'd like to make a thread strictly about things we have learned, the only discussion i'd like to see here is to correct someone only if they are wrong.

The first thing for some reason i felt like I had to play with after i got the started and running was the cranking speed, it was set to 250 rpm. I was watching megatune while cranking the car and it was cranking at 200 rpm, so i changed the cranking speed to 200 rpm. The second time i tried to start the car it didn't want to start, a problem I was having for a while before i rebuilt the engine, it acted like it always flooded while trying to start the engine. Than it dawned on me that the number is what i'm telling megatune the car cranks at or under. If it cranks faster than the number you set it to in megatune, megasquirt thinks the engine is running while your cranking it and the damn thing will never start.

My example is if the engine is cranking at 200 rpm, and after it starts, it idles at 800rpm, you are safe to set the cranking speed to 400rpm and it should start, if you set it to 200 rpm and it reads 209rpm while cranking megasquirt will think the engine is running.

Side affects of setting this number to low: While cranking the engine will act like it's getting to much fuel resulting in the user to lower the required fuel number making tuning a nightmare.
