GA Success

I finally got to take my car in to do some tuning today. All went well with the exception of a blown fuse on the primary injector bank on one of the first full runs.

While I was a little disappointed, it did make 148hp and 150 torque. Peak torque was at 3700 rpm and stayed over 140 up to 5200. HP peaked at 6000. While not astronomical, that is an increase of 18% over the stock 12a turbo that is still only making 6lbs of boost. Seems the turbo had not been tweaked on like I was told that it was

I have a manual boost controller that is going on next. If that does not help, a bigger turbo will be in line. I was hoping to see 225-250. I have enough injector for 260 and still stay under 80% duty cycle.

For now, I have stock port 12a turbo, Borla/TWM throttle body, 2x720 and 2x780 injectors, RB intake, MS2 v3, Innovate WB, Saab intercooler.

Thank you to all who contributed during this build. One of the runs can be found here:

Haha...Been there and done that! Terrifying when it happens.

The ports will hold you back. 12A exhaust ports are tiny.

Yes, they are. I have just bolted a boost controller on the strut tower. I am hoping to see 200 whp. I am not sure that the impact turbo will make it.

Why not use the MS's built in boost control?

Since I've got the same TB; what air filter are you running ? It's good to see someone with the same TB setup. I'm going NA though. Sorry for the off topic.

Thanks Ken, that was the plan. I just need to get back to the dyno. Right now, my deadline is approaching as this is a planned GRM $2013 Challenge entry. There is a lot of paint and body that has to be done.

Stan, I ran an intake pipe made from 2 1/2" mandrels into the headlight bucket capped off with a K&N filter. Originally, it curved and went in front of the radiator. I will try to get a picture this weekend.
