Some more wiring Questions

I finally started to install my Megasquirt and have a few questions about wiring. Specifically the Fuel pump. Id like to install a 5 pin relay for the pump and totally eliminate the stock relay assy. Has anyone done this and is it a possibility to eliminate the stock one?

Also, for a tach signal to the dash tach, I should tap into the trailing coil black wire, and to what color wire on the back of the gauge cluster?

Other then that, I cannot think of any other issues I have at the moment. If anyone has some pointers on issues they had or some details on what they did on thier install, lemme know.

Thanks,
Craig

yea, wiring a relay is not a big deal... is there something wrong with the stock relay, or are you trying to get rid of the resistance-pack relay thing that steps down the voltage to the fuel pump?

The tach (in stock form anyway) should automatically fire as long as the trailing coil is still getting the switch signal. I guess you could wire it up to the MS's tach-out pin, but it works fine as is (as long as you dont mind it dropping off below 700 rpm)

Im trying to keep all my wiring for the MS centralized and independant of the majority of the OE wiring. Im not too worried about the fuel pump cause Im running an aftermarket setup. Just one more thing I could sell to get some loot to finish the car lol.

its actually really easy to wire the fuel pump to work with the MS, especially if you already have the emissions harness apart. Just connect the wire to the fuel pump relay (its in the check connector and the AFM connector) to the pin for fuel pump and be done with it. I think its a brown wire that comes in on the smaller of the two connectors between the emissions harness and the front harness.

My car didnt come with any engine harness what so ever. I have the RS autosport harness for the MS that Im wiring into all my injector/CAS/BAC/ect ect connectors I got from a member here.

Ill take a look at the front L/H harness to see what your talkin about. If anyone knows the color code, lemme know. Ill also check my diagrams I got too.

Topless, thanks much for the help bro.
