rx8 injector settings

Hi all, I have gotten my MS2 V3 "working" some of it is relating to timing which I am working on and the other is relating to the fuel injection. I cannot find specific settings for rx8 injectors. I am using these on a stock fuel and stock ignition FC setup on an NA engine but I can't quite get it to idle enough to mess with the timing, I have tried adding 20% of fuel to my VE table for idle conditions but it doesn't work well enough.

With a modern injector I imagine it operates differently than the stock FC injectors so I'm sure the MS needs to send different "signals" to the injector. Anyone here used these injectors before? what were your settings?

RX-8 injectors are high impedance so you can disable any injector PWM and remove any injector resistors you may have had present for low impedance injectors.

Open time for those injectors is about .8mS in most cases.

Aside from that, an injector is an injector. It's just a solenoid.

What issues are you having with the idle? Too lean? Unsatable? Do you have a datalog with AFR measurements?

Set the idle to a higher speed if it helps, say 1500 RPM if it runs better at that point. Then lock the timing down at that speed.

are you ready for this....

Brettspeed Injector upgrades for turbo - RX8Club.com

OEM Red latency map..
OEM Yelllow latency map..
OEM Blue latency map ..
yellow uncapped maps, its all there, every freaking number you ever wanted to know.. ENJOy!!
and for yellow uncapped... a good how to!

im using two red for prim, and two uncapped yellows for 2nds.

im also using the rx8 MAF for its calibration is saved under access tuner race.. and i have spare.

I was actually having some timing issue unrelated and poorly coincidental (causing a fouled plug) now the engine is timed correctly but I had to stab the CAS 1 tooth off to do so.

Kind of back starting at square one again because as soon as I got it timed right, I lost fuel... (yes the pump is working)

no I am not ready for this but it is awesome! I am only using a S5 NA rotating on an S4 Turbo irons/housings with a large streetport so I plan to just use the 4 yellows all around but I do have a pair of reds I can use if need be.

looks like I have some more fiddling with before its driving. Here is my current MSQ

What units are those numbers in?

If you had to stab the CAS one tooth off to get proper time, it would indicate one of the sensors is wired backwards. Likely the 2 tooth wheel.

latency is time Aaron, they are measured in MS. so at 14v they have a 1ms of latency.

Time, you don't say.

It didn't occur to me that it would be in MICRO-seconds. Seems unnecessarily precise.

im going from rtek 2.1 to ms3 pro... tell me about it.. but i did a cobb rx8 tune like 3 years ago, so i was already failure with how dialed in every thing is.

Burned?

The only time I've seen that is when someone shorted an injector driver directly to 12V some how.

It caused this:

Was fixed with the old PWM flyback mod.

it went open, I don't see any burn witness marks. We just jumped the trace with a wire and its working again...

Here was the issue:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B05...NtTHBfajQ/view

the turned on MOSFET injector drivers was burned, so we jumped the trace with a wire that led from VDD pin 6 to the IC.
