Q19 Question

Searched and didn't find an answer, closest thing was this guys thread.

I was at 74 of the assembly manual and everytime I wired in one of those tiny transistors, I did a continuity check to make sure I didn't bridge the leads.

Well, pin 1 and the middle one showed continuity...took almost an hour to get the thing out. Now, on the board itself, there is still continuity. I used a razor blade and scraped between the pads but no use.

I found a schematic which refers to a fuel pump drive? But can't understand the symbology.

Is my board SOL? If I skip this recommended step, what can I do outside of MS to achieve the same thing?

thanks

R40 is only a 1 Ohm resistor, so most continuity testers will show continuity between the base and emitter of Q19.
