Not yet but i do have an OMP somewhere for bench testing support for it. I need to see if our current stepper-motor driver is capable of driving it.

Shouldn't be that hard to do... I had an open-loop mode in mind that just set the number of steps to go to and went there, and a closed loop method that let you specify a % of opening based on the input voltage using a 3D table of RPM vs load. The closed loop method would allow the OMP opening to follow the target using a PID loop that the user tunes.

Does that sound alright? Do you even think the open loop method is necessary?

I honestly was thinking something like a tps vs rpm table. the s4 rx7 just has a link to the throttle. now far as the omp it seem to have the same operating theory as the idle control motor on the gm cars exept for the built in position pot

OMP support on MS3

Yeah, I had the same idea more or less for the table except I wanted to use load instead of using TPS since the TPS on most 7's (FCs anyway) is kinda crappy. The PID loop is required in order to make the actual position match the commanded position.

the tps on the fd is a full range sensor, I think that with the position sensor in the omp
you could just make a throttle follower. I would like that very much

Even a throttle follower requires PID or a similar closed-loop algorithm to make one match the other. If I'm going to do that, might as well make it tunable based on load. Load is more than likely a better indicator of the need for oil than throttle position anyway.

yeah I do agree with you about the load being the most important factor
to determine oil injection. if you need any test I can help with let me know
I have an oscilloscope and my fd to test on

Yeah, the OMP I have is from an S5 (FC).

I'm assuming the FD's are the same but if they aren't, someone with an MS3 and an FD OMP available would be required to test.

We should probably move discussion about the OMP support on MS3 to a different thread though.
