need help with trailing

I am not new to megasquirt had car running for two years now. I just built a new 2.2 board with the newest error card and can't get trailing to work. I double check the vr sensor wiring and it works. I can start and drive the car fine but just no trailing. My stock tach stop working shortly after new ms install. Check with timing light and nothing on traling. So I know the stock tach get its signal from the trailing coil. I tried changing coil and nothing. Any tips on were to search would be VERY HELPFUL. Thanks

one more thing I have led 17 going to green/yellow led 18 to blue /yellow and led 19 to brown/yellow. I could not find if this is wrong or right. I also checked for power at the coil and there was.

I did notice led 18 and 19 stay one and don't blink and led 17 blinks constantly( so fast you can't really tell it is even blinking)

The trailing plugs won't fire at idle. Once engine speed is up (over 1k?), then you should see flickering on the other two leds, with the middle one flashing half as fast as the outer two. I thought at first perhaps you'd set split over 20 degrees, which disables trailing, but that doesn't appear to be the problem. What version of embedded code are you running? You may want to try flashing to the latest release if you haven't already done so.

hmm ... at this point ... I think I'd double-check the led's and their pullups / transistors / connections just to be safe.

The LED behavior is expected... trailing turns off when you go below 700 rpms, and turns back on above 800 rpms.

If those LEDs are doing what you say, and you have everything wired right, the problem is not the MS.

I will have to test the pull resistor again and try reloading new code. It is bugging me not having the factory tach I don't care about losing trailing I just want factory tach back.

The right-most led should be similar to the leading one, only a bit offset depending on split.. .the middle one should be going on and off at a steady rate, this is the coil select signal, so it should be on for half the trailing IGt pulses, and off for the other half (in an alternating fashion).

what is the difference between setting up 11,1,5,7 and 1,3,7,9 I have it set to 11 1 5 7 and the car runs fine but with no trailing. I tried the other and car won't run but the led seem to work the way there supposed to. I the 11157 the right most led just stay on no blinking and is brighter then the others.

I will have to take a peek at your msq... there's no reason why 11,1,5,7 shouldn't work when 1,3,7,9 does.

Found the problem, the wire going from the LED was broken and I could not tell because of the shrink wrap. I tested it with a scope is how I found it. LED was working fine but tested at the coil was nothing. So everything work now. Thank for everyone help.
