MSNS-E latest and new V3 board built but have issues

I've completed my MS1 V3.0 and tested it with my stim and all is good. I flashed with the latest firmware and followed the faq and set it as layed out. Something is not right, kuz i get the flashing fuel pump led, which is from what I've read is the firmware's way of saying something is wrong. So I open up the mini-terminal as sugested by there FAQ to see the error output but all I see is "&&&&&&". I reflashed and walked through the steps again and same result. Now there is alot of new options in the code since the FAQ here was written so Im sure there something I've done wrong. Also I've got the 2nd VR circuit in the proto area but its currently incomplete as im short 2 resistors. Anyone have any ideas?

Thx

West.

flashing fuel pump led means you have a config conflict. Post your MSQ and I'll see if I can take a look at it later.

it seems as soon as I enabled trailing split support it goes into its error mode.

yes Led's are setup as outputs L17 - Spark A L18 - IRQ Trigger L19 Spark outputB. Decoder wheel is enabled 12 teeth 2nd trigger no missing teeth. When I turn on stim wheel I get rpm and all its good lights flash with spark on both A & B but as soon as I enable trailing she craps out. May this be that I've wired my LM1815 wrong ?

Also Im getting on megatune Fan/Output4 is cycling on and off irratically?

LED18 needs to be "Spark output C".

the lm1815 won't cause the error you're seeing, as eagle 7 said, all three LED outputs have to be set to "spark" outputs.

Yes, I've now got all 3 set to outputs and it appears to be working correctly now. but I'm still seeing some odd behavoir, in megatune my spark off/Fidle is flashing on and off and i'm getting output4 flashing as well but otherwise things seem to Ok. Is there a link somewhere for testing the VR inputs using the CAS and a drill ? I've read people using a drill but not found any details on it.

basically you just hook the CAS up the way it would be in the car, and spin it with a drill, and make sure rpms show up correctly in megatune. it's pretty simple to do.

go to "General->tacho output pin" and make sure it's turned off.

Also, output 4 may be flashing because one of the led's can also be used as a generic output instead of spark.

I've tried connecting the drill to the CAS, I've connected it the way thats layed out in the FAQ
(NE+ red) to Pin 24, (NE- white) to Pin 7 , (G+ green) to VR2 in (G- white/black) to Ground on 2nd VR. I'm testing it with the Stim connected to gett power but im getting nothing. I'm wondering if the stim is somehow part of the problem. Im goinig to power the board directly and try with only pin 24,7,VR2in and ground. But from what it looks like am I missing anything? The one thing i wasnt sure about was the G- lead is marked "L" and on my CAS its a white wire with black stripe, (S4 T2).

sounds like it's pretty much hooked up right, but the stim COULD be causing a problem.. I never test this on the stim, I have a db37 that I wired up just for this sort of test.

Also, make sure the Potentiometers are turned all the way counter clockwise, and make sure you have all you wiring right for the board to the processor.

I've rechecked my VR circuit and i'm not getting RPM reading from the drill but can't seem to get it to show more than 331 rpm and it seems to be somewhat irratic.

I connected power directed to the MS and removed the stim from the equation and Im getting rpm LED19 blinks and rpm is shown and the pump turns on, im not sure how to verify the 2nd circuit is working. Im goinig to start installing, does anyone know where the best place to access the fuel pump is? I am not going to be using factory wiring of the ecu.
