So since the last update we've changed the VE tables to .1% resolution, and made spark 16x16.

I've also got basic sequential injection working (although not yet with staging).

Also, today I got my rx7 up and running on ms3. I plan on taking some datalogs using the built-in SD card logger at about 5 ms per data point tomorrow when I drive to the garage to work on the Corolla.

In a word .... YAY!

 

MS in general is great for FSAE since it teaches you so much about what the engine needs to run, the effects of manifold and cam tuning, the sensors and whatnot needed to run etc. I had my undergrad's first FSAE car running on MS1 (also a F4i engine) back in 2007, and this past year they were running MS2 with good results too.

Sounds awesome that progress is being made Ken! I'll definitely need to get one once I have a bit more money and time to spare!

 

I'm actually using it in upgrade mode, which is basically just a straight swap, load the ms2/extra settings, run through them once to make sure they all transferred (they didn't when I tried, had to go back and redo a few) start up and drive off. It ran great all the way to the revlimiter. It even feels slightly smoother running than ms2/extra did.

I did have tune one or two spots in my VE table by 4 or 5 points but other than that it worked just as easy as I describe.

I also took a log on the SD card, but I wasn't logging AFR (forgot to turn that on). Oops.

Anyway, yesterday I found several bugs while getting it up and running on my rx7, so we still have a pretty good bit of work to do before 1.0 is done.
