MS3/3X CAS Wires

Is there any reason the same wire cannot be used for NE- and G- to pin #2?

I have a DIY harness with 1 wire within the shielded cable. I also have another DIY harness that has 2 wires within the shielded cable. In order to not have the G- wire cross over between the MS3 and 3X harness, I would like to use the 2 wire shielded cable for NE+ and NE-/G- run to the MS3. Leaving the single wire shielded cable for the G- run to the 3X.

NE+ -> MS3 pin #24
NE- -> MS3 Pin #2
NE Shield -> MS3 ground
G+ -> MS3X pin # 32
G- -> MS3 Pin #2
G Shield -> MS3X ground

That can cause noise and crosstalk issues. I wouldn't recommend it.

In my MS3 harness that I got from DIY, the twin lead shielded wire was long enough that I cut it in half and used that wire for the other side of the CAS. It's been working fine that way for a couple of months now. You don't have to buy more or wonder if it's the right kind of shielded cable that way. I'm kind of cheap that way.
