Nice job Ken. I still have an old MS board and I'd like to just get a new one. Is MSII an available kit? I've been out of the loop for a while.

yeah, you can go over to diyautotune for a kit. They have a v3 board kit that comes with an MS2.

Is there any problems with a MS2-extra working on a V2.2 board
(with the apropriate 12v mod to the cpu)?

Mike Robert posted on the msextra forum that he has tried the ms2/extra rotary code, and it works fine.

He also tried out EAE on his engine (12a, streetport I think, and ITBs) and said that he got AE tuned in minutes to where MAPdot was after weeks of tuning. In other words, EAE works well too!

Anyway, just thought I'd update.

can i use megatunix rotory trailing for ms2

I have megatunix on windows and it runs great just as long you have the gtk library to go with it. The web address link to get the gtk library should be on the install theirs two of them and just click on the one for your windows system. My question is does megatunix work on ms2 and did the rotory trailing system work good. If not I'll check out muy's ideas on megatune untill i figure out megatunix. I'll posting more on megatunix.

Rotary trailing worked fine as far as he could tell according to him, I'm sure when he sees this he'll post. I'm not sure he checked split under load, but everything looked alright with a timing light, and it drove fine.

There is no support for megatunix with ms2/extra yet... I don't know if there are plans for that or not.

That depends more on whether megatunix's author wants to support it than on ms2/extra itself.

I talk to the guy that does megatunix and he is saying he is going to do newer version for ms2 and more updates. He also said that the rotory trailing will defently b their. I also have a friend that owns an auto repair shop and he says just wire up the trailing to msd at -10 and the leading off the megasquirt 2. I said I don't know about that but It might work as long the msd box is hooked up to megasquirt. So their might b a conflict between msd to ms2. I don't know if it's really possable got any Ideas on how that might work let me know. If the msd setup is worth it. I'll b running megatune instead of the linux version.

There really isn't a reason to do what the person at your local shop says. I mean it won't hurt anything to run trailing at fixed 10 degrees split, but why would you hook it up that way when you can just let the ms2 control everything? I'm also not sure you can run trailing on 1 MSD box, the trailing plugs cannot be fired at the same time, otherwise you might fire a plug on the wrong face of the rotor, and I'm pretty sure that's not a good idea.

Also, I'm not trying to be a jerk since I want to help you, but please try to spell out all your words, and use better punctuation. It makes it very difficult to read your post otherwise.

Im planning on upgrading to MS2/E in the next few weeks (S4 TII, v3 board, already running 029y4 MS1/E), and just to confirm, all I need to do is swap the MS1 chip with the MS2 daughterboard, run 12v to JS9, and then flash the MS2/E firmware etc onto the daughterboard? I've looked through the MS2 manual and all the conversion things i could find, and this seemed to be the only hardware change necessary.

I just want to doublecheck since this is my only car, and i rely on it a bit.

I believe on the MS2, if using firmware 1.x the 2nd trigger needs to go to JP4 on the ms2 cpu itself.

This is where your added VR circuit output wires to.

Hope this helps,

Paul.

Correct. I built my MSII using your PDF guide, second trigger on 1.x firmware to JP4 on the CPU. Runs like a champ.

ms2extra

was having serious trouble,
but ended up cutting two opposite teeth on the cas and only running single vr.
and started up and ran grand then. timed it all up now.

finally getting somewere, but has massive ports so idles mad lumpy.
and from 1000rpm to 1800rpm it stumbles but revs clean after that.
could possibly be an accel issue.

gona bolt up the exhausts properly tomoorrow, and see whats it's like under load..

also changed the shielded wire to decent speaker wire and reckon that cleaned it up a bit
