MS 2.2 w/Zeal Sync Issues

Hardware is a MS-2 2.2 board w/Zeal daughter card

I cannot seem to resolve these sync issues no matter what I do. I'm plagued with code 17.

I've changed grounds all around, rewired the harness, grounded pin 14 on both LM's, and simply can't seem to shake this issue. The car will occasionally start and hold an RPM just fine until the sync issue hits and then it stalls completely. On the bench with a drill on the CAS, it never seems to have a problem.

I've included a datalog and composite log to give some reference. It seems to be related to the CAM (green) line not showing up.

Unfortunately, I need to get the car running to relocate it ASAP, and just cannot seem to figure this one out.

I add a 10 ohms shunt resistor on the 2nd trigger signal and fix my sync error. also try to get the 2nd trigger sensor closer and see if that help.

Like open the CAS and attempt to shim it closer? Will do.

For the 10 ohm resistor, did you run a 10ohm across the - and + at the megasquirt or did you run it inline?

Thanks for the tips.

I'll give it a go later this week. Seems like it might be less noise than the gap issue, as I don't ever get a "false" cam signal, just no signal. I'll certainly try both though.

not sure about the resister method above but adding a small capacitor on the second trigger bridging the G+ / G- is common on LM1815 circuits along with grounding pin14 you have done. not sure of the size might need to search here or someone can chime in. adjusting the gap on the triggers seems to help also but from what I gather more so on cranking/startup.

The Zeal board appears to use a 330 ohm resistor between the G+/G- so I'll try swapping this out with some various sizes to see if it helps the situation or swapping in a .01uF capacitor as some other diagrams suggest.
