MicroSquirt Idle Control Strategies

Hi all,

I have a Microsquirt running a 12a Bridgeport. Intake and injection is via 4age ITBs and it runs no IAC so at the moment idle is essentially controlled by the stop screw on the throttle blades. This works alright, I mean the car is drivable BUT it's a bit of a bear to get warmed up, I have to sit in the car holding throttle open a little to keep it running while it warms up and drops the Warm Up Enrichment (currently set to 100% at around 30degC). Log (attached as a .zip, rename to .mlg to open) and tune attached you'll see for the most part in warmup I am holding abouy 2%TPS then easing off as it heats up.

What options do I have for having the ECU manage a higher RPM as the car warms?? I assume I could drop that WUE temp end point lower? Are there other ways I can approach this???

Cheers,
Karl

I don't have an idle valve that's why I'm trying to understand other idle control strategies I can use for warm up

It's been a while since I've bothered fiddling with any 'squirt setup but use timing to increase RPM when cold table axis can be as simple as an engine temp vs RPM - just add 5 or 10 (or whatever ends up being required) degrees below 2000 rpm or wherever you find you need to hold the car at when warming up. You'll probably find is that you'll need to open the throttle stop more than you'd like when warm and then retard the timing at idle at operating temp passed what you're used to.

It'll be annoying to fiddle with but usually 'Squirts are.

You'd be playing around with the 'Cold Advance' settings under ignition and 'Idle Advance' under 'Startup/Idle'.
