Megasquirt MegaSquirt + S5 TII
MegaSquirt + S5 TII
Hello, I bought a MegaSquirt a while back, and never got the chance to dive into it. (so still in pieces)
I would like to know what I should do to get started. Since i haven't been keeping it, it seems very overwhelming again.
first thing first, how to build the unit?
then what modifications do i have to do to make it compatible with my RX-7?
if anyone have any info, how they did their install, thoughts are all welcome, i feel so overwhelmed that sometimes I want to scratch the idea and get a PowerFC instead (i know.... $$$), but i don't want to give up yet....
Thanks
Jonathan

The building of the unit is covered in detail on http://www.megamanual.com. Just follow the instructions there.
The main mods are pullup resistors on the LEDs to drive ignition outputs, and a second trigger conditioner to condition the signal from the "G" sensor on the CAS.
Most of these mods are also described in detail in the FAQ, so I'd suggest reading there, and then asking any questions you have.
Jumping headfirst into any aftermarket EMS can be daunting, especially so with MS, but you'll learn a lot more with MS than you will with any other EMS once you have the engine running.
