Smile Mega Squirt Up Grade for self tune program??

Hi All,

I have been turning off the acceleration wizard and using the self-adjusting air fuel-tuning program at the road race tack during my practice sessions and half of my qualifying sessions. Before the races, I reset the throttle wizard back on. I still have not set up that program part at this time. It seems to go lean on quick throtle stabs and go rich on slow and smooth throttle application. Has any one played with this and may be try to explain how it works and how much of a number change in which direction will cause what to happen. Also at the race track I meet a person that has a great deal of experience with Mega Squirt and he said that there is a new version of the VE table self correcting program out there that will do a better job than the one that is in my car now. He said it could fine-tune it better than what I was using. Is this a fact??
Looking forward to a reply going racing this weekend in Seattle.

I am having the same problem too. I wish I could help but I have been digging for the same responce. There is a thread on msefi.com explain alot about accelenrichment. But it doesn't say how to adjust it. Just do a search for accelenrichements.

There is no way to autotune accel enrichments. You just have to tinker till you get it right.

Question Auto Tune

I understand that there is no way to autotune accel enrichments. You just have to ajust it untill you get it right. What I was told was that there is a better more refined auto tune program for mega squirt out there. Has anyone hear of this replacement set up??

yeah, there's talk of at least trying to autotune accel enrichments using megalogviewer as well... so you might get your wish after all!

Smile Mega Logveiwer Up Grade

Thanks Marty,

I down loaded the new program and had a good look at it. WOW!! I know it will help me tune at the track a lot quicker. I will be carefull and watch how the program makes the changes. But before I kept flipping from Mega Logveiwer on one page to the other Mega Squirt, now it's all right there. I'm going to Seattle for a race this week end and I will try it out there. (With Care). In my Saturday practice sessions I will turn off the accl wizard and run with slow and smooth throttle off the corners so it won't go lean for proper data. Then I will ajust for the Accel Wizard. Start off rich and try to clean it up. I'll come back with some results on Monday. Hopfully I don't go KABOOM!!!!! LOL, .

Thank Again For this tip!!

Not so great

The viewing system and lay out helped me make adjustments to the car a lot quicker. The program that analyzes your run in my case did not work. Areas that I know from my passed experiences should have been lowered a maximum of 3 points were cut by as much as 25. In this case if I did not know better I would have leaned of my motor to the point of melt down. I followed the instruction to the letter and only looked at the areas with the most hits. Some good to report but some bad. I am still having accel adjustment issues. Going to the race track this Friday for a full 6 hour practice session the race on the following two days.

Strange. I spent all last Friday at the track and it worked quite well for me, although it seems to keep richening up my idle. What I especially appreciated was quickly and easily getting reasonable numbers throughout nearly the entire table. My biggest remaining problem is a lean hump at 6200 RPM that won't go away. I'm going to have to move my RPM bins to flatten it out. What RPM has your peak VE number? Mine is 6600 and I think that's a little high.

I haven't worked too much on accel enrichment. Previously it was too rich, so I just lowered the numbers across the board. It's quite drivable, but needs tweaking.

If you're not getting correct numbers, make sure that megalogviewer is set up for your type of wideband, and make sure that the AFRs displayed in the analyzer match what they ware when you view them in megatune. Chances are there is some kind of discrepency between settings from one place to the next.

Do you have any porting? Do you get too rich over 7K RPM? Mine needs less VE above 6500 RPM.

Ignore the top 2 rows of my table. I never see more than 91 MAP.
