Lost E-Fan after upgrade to MS2

This is driving me nuts.

E-fan output was working fine on MS1. Just upgraded to a MS2 board, car fires up and runs(ish, obviously needs tuning) but my E-fan doesn't ever turn on. Luckily I caught it just as the engine was approaching 200 degrees

Even in output test mode, turning on/off IAC1 does nothing.

Everything was built & configured according to Aaron's write-up.

Is there anything obvious I could be missing before I dive into more details?

S12 to JS9 ? I did NOT install it. I thought it wasn't necessary, and only a recommendation for running high-current devices directly. Did I misinterpret that?
