Just got it to ruN!

But I had to move the pickups so far in that they impacted the teeth... WTF?

Bad CAS maybe?

possibly, when I tested your MS, I used my test-CAS and turned it by hand. I had no problems with that one.

could also be a bad or old harness, i was having all kinds of RPM signal problems till we went through the harness and replaced wires.

Correct, although with a stable signal that requires moving the VR sensor closer to the teeth, usually it's not wiring.

you didn't have to move the CAS pickup closer did you?

I'd say the new CAS *did* fix it if you're getting it to start up consistently...

Most likely it's just a configuration issue at this point.

Post your msq and I'll have a look through it.
