Alright guys so i just bought the MS2 v3.0 board kit along with:

DB9 Tuning Cable
25' Cables
Lead bending too just because

Did I forget anything? Let me know so that I can go back and get it.

good soldering tips, solder wick or sucker(just incase), heatsink compound ... cant think of much else that you might not have laying around the house.

 

I went to school for electronics, so i already have all that stuff but thanks ... I just meant in the sense of other circuit boards and IC's that I need to purchase

 

Actually one thing that I just noticed, I just purchase the EGT kit from Pineapple racing, would I need the MSNS to hook up the EGT guages

 

ahh nice ... well you would need the lm1815 circuit stuff if you dont want to do the cas mod, the stock sensor resistors, bac valve transistor and resistor if you plan on using it ...

 

hmmm...I have used the error* card with k-type couples for egt ... does the pineapple one have an output?

 

It displays the info to a guage normally not fully sure on what other kind of outputs it would have ... haven't received it yet

Also whats the BAC valve and stuff?

I have a 12a engine that was carburated and going with ITB's to go the FI route.

 

its idle control for 2nd gens

 

So do i need anything to control Idle on my ITBs? or can I just set it up with the tps? Also whats all the virtual guages that can be displayed on the Megasquirt program?

 

I guess you could try running an idle valve on a vacuum log ... or just set the idle a bit high and call it a day ... You can run 8 gauges of oh maybe 30+ gauges of everything you could ever want of virtual gauges in MT ... or up to all of them if you want in megatunix ...

 

Megatunix doesn't work with ms2/extra.

It's unlikely that it ever will.

to be honest I still don't know all that MS extra and stuff yet, but will as soon as I get thing installed. I'm just too much of a visual learner I guess. I take it that Megatunix is just another program that work with Megasquirt, but with the MS extra I can still display some of the guages correct?

 

megatune is windows based, megatunix is linux/unix/Mac OS based
