i live in san antonio tx. i have a megasquirts ecu i bought of lowkee28.
it has some mods to it. he said he followed the forum and did exactly what was needed to be done. but i am really lost. i can not comprehend this section of the forum. . the FAQ section doesnt make much sence to me because it seems like its made for some one that already knows the basics. and i do not know the basics.

i am a "show me" type of person. and i am dyslexic and its very hard for me to comprehend and understand things at times. and i really would like some help.

my aim is FC3schick87.
please help me.

and dont tell me to read the faq. i have. and it makes little to no sence to me. its not written in terms i can understand. its written for people who already know what is being talked about.

ya....... right. some FAQ.
it doesnt even say how to install the firm where. or it doesnt even state that you have to download and change settings for your program to look like the one that you see the pictures of.
you have to patch. then open up configurator
unminimize car one
unminimize settings. click code_variant. andd click the drop down menue and select MSNS_EXTRA --james murray and phill ringwoods ...

thats not said in the FAQ. people who just open the program and expect to see the same thing. get a shock when they see its no where near the same

 

Some of the pics in the FAQ are outdated I believe, I'm sure muythai is beyond busy to update pics, especially on extra code which gets updated quite frequently. If you combine the FAQ here and the msefi instructions (and read between the lines on both of them) it is actually quite complete ( Perhaps a collaborative effort for the FAQ will happen in the future ). If the firmware flash is the issue, I would suggest reading the readme or info file for which firmware you are trying to flash (I would recommend only using 029W and above) and perhaps peek at the msextra page, which has a good step-by-step, (especially if you need to use easytherm to change your inc files). HTH ...

 

yep, I didn't repeat info which can be found easily elsewhere. I just put in the information for the questions most people asked me... but you must do quite a bit of reading. You have to do that anyway before you start tuning.

A couple of the points are fair though. The screenshots that are there are up-to-date, but I need to post more, and the deal about the ini files and stuff could be better. There is a version of megatune that comes set up for msns-extra, so I'll have to post a link.

My FAQ is definitely not meant for the newbie though, I wrote it expecting that people will have already read the msns-extra manual and done a lot of the research... It was meant to just tell people which modifications and settings are necessary for running on an rx7, and several people have used it for that, and gotten their cars running.
