i dont think im getting fuel

i dont think the fuel pump is powering up. i also dont think im pluging in the wire to the correct connector. what i want to know is this. i have a fuel cut switch im going to wire in. could this be used in a way to turn on the fuel pump or not? how would i go about this?

i'd start by searching since adding a switch to your fuel pump circuit is a common thing ppl do to there FC. Since noone knows how you've wired up your fuel pump right now its pretty hard to answer your question about it being an effective way to do it. If your using the diagnostic socket on the fender well then I'd say No, its not a good way if your intention is to be able to unflood the car since your pump will still prime when the key is turn to ON but I could be wrong, I noticed that even without the fuel pump wire from the MS connected to the diagnostic the car still got enough fuel to start but stall after 5 seconds or so.

well i didnt add the switch yet. im just wondering if im connecting the wire to the right place. in the haynes manual it says jumper the pink connectopr. but they are all white. i dont know though. ill get a fuel pressure regulator, and rework everything and ill get a fuel pressure gauge so i can figure out wtf is going on.

if you jumper the correct wire (there's only 2 in the connector) you should hear your fuel pump turn on depending on how loud it is.

Pull the hatch carpet up on the driver's side, Take the 4 phillips head screws out of the silver inspection plate. There you will find the fuel lines coming from and going back to the tank. If I remember right, the line on the right is fuel feed and teh one on the left is return. Take the feed line off (or both, just to make sure you take feed off) and sit in the car and turn the key to the on position. Also you could turn the engine over and make sure that it is still pumping fuel. (You can see the lines from the driver's seat if you look over your shoulder).

This just verifys that the fuel pump is turning on and pumping fuel, you could still have a fuel pressure problem even if you pass this test.

you don't need to crank the engine to tell if your jumping the right connectors to turn on the pump, simply turn the ignition to ON and jump the connector you should hear your pump or if you have a buddy stick his head in the hatch near the pump location as mentioned earlier.

You can also listen for it in the fuel filler door, you should be able to hear it. Easier than dis-assembling anything.

The pump runs for a couple seconds when MS is first powered up. This allows the system to pressurize. Then the pump turns off, waiting until it senses rpm (cranking) to start the fuel pump again. This is standard practice for MS and oems as well.

Have you figured out if the fuel pump is running yet? No use fiddling with firmware if your pump isn't wired right! If you can't hear anything, stick a tee in the fuel pressure line, and mount a gauge to it (an old cheapo compression tester gauge is perfect). Turn the key on, and you should see the system pressurize to 40 psi or so.

If you see rpm in MegaTune, your MS injector outputs will be firing. The next step is to check to see if the injector wiring is correct. Make sure you have power to the injectors during crank and run positions of the ignition switch.
