Got her running. Runs rough and way out of timing.

So i finally got her running and here are my mods.

MS2ne W/V3.0 board
Zeal daughter board for the secondary wheel.
Map daddy map sensor installed and proper setup in the ECU
Double and triple checked the CAS wiring, The Cas signal is spot on
TSEL to INVOUT
Followed aarons walk through and I'm using the latest Tuner studio

S5NA block

So here is my problem, She starts barely, and kicks against the starter before actually starting. I figure its doing this because my timing is about 90 degrees out. And thats after the 19 degrees of timing from when it started. I cant turn the CAS enough to get it back into sync and I cant justify re-stabbing the CAS until it hits home with timing. I've re-stabbed the CAS to factory specs 4 times and changed the CAS to known good ones. I am using a rough estimate with a timing light and fully marked the wheel so i can see it clearly.

I have marked the dots as if i were standing infront of the car and looking at the crank. Red dot is the first mark (-5 degrees BTDC) , and if im correct the next mark that is clock wise to this red mark is TDC

Even if I set the fixed timing to -5 its still 70-80 degrees out. And if I were standing at the front of the car, timing would be out 90 degrees clockwise to the crank.

Now I think I have some settings wrong in TS.

Ignition Options

Igntion input capture - Falling Edge
Spark Output - Going Low (Normal)

Trigger wheel settings

Wheel speed - Cam
Second trigger active on - Rising Edge
And every rotation of - Cam

And the other problem I have, I dont see my trailing plugs firing at all when I have my induction timing light hooked to those wires. I am sure I have the wires properly installed because when I have the wires off and old plugs hooked up to them, I can see the two plugs fire alternately. I think this is happening because there is no combustion happening and the timing light wont pick it up. Or dwell isnt long enough for my light.

Msq attached,
Thanks in advanced
Jason

Several of your settings are incorrect (and that's just from your description, I've not looked at the msq yet):

Assuming you've set up the input capture on the v3 board the same way that most people do (VROUT not VROUTINV) then you need to trigger on the rising edge not the falling. This will throw your timing off considerably if wrong.

Also, wheel speed should be cam (if you've set up for 24 teeth), with second trigger active on rising edge and every rotation of the *crank*.

You know, I actually fiddled around with the cam/crank setting and it did sound 100000% better when it ran. Thanks a lot! ill go change those settings right now and maybe i wont **** off the neighbors with the backfiring.

Yeah its set to TSEL to VROUTINV, Ill probably switch it back to how everybody else does.
