first time in the car, and no start...

well i popped it in the car with the trusty ol plug and play adaptor. i checked and reched my wireing and it seems everything is fine externally for the wireing. but not matter how hard i try, i cant get a reading from the cas, and it wont show any rpms in megatune when i try and crank the engine up.other than that, i dont know what else to do. and no i didnt check the conditioner circuit or anything. imma wire up a jumper from the stim so that i can put a cas in there and see how it goes. before i did everything and buttoned up everything, it worked fine when i set it to stim to wheel in megatune. other than that, i dont know.

cliff notes: cant get rpm signal from cas and plug and play harness is fine but i didnt test the vr circuit outside of the car.

DOH
would this make it not read rpm input at all?

also, do they just supposed to s[in and not stop? cus they keep turning. i even make sure to see if there try and stop turning a little. how many turns does it take for them to be all the way?

ok i know they are clicking. i can hear it. ( i had music playing ) so if i go past a click, can i keep going counter clockwise untill they click again?

if you get a click, gently turn it with your fingernail until it stops... and at that point, you're all set.

So, after a click, keep turning gently until you feel resistance? This may be my problem as well. Hmm.

post your msq's. I'll probably have time to check them tonight.

Most likely you have the wheel decoder set up wrong, or you have your 2nd trigger circuit set up wrong.

the Fidle light blinks, and all the lights on the front are solid. i tested it with a stim and i also tested with an s5 cas.

i uploaded 3 of mine in a zip file.

also, everything works fine when i set it stim for wheel. works perfectly, and the leds blink like they should. but the thing is, the moment i set it back t wheel decoder, it doesnt want to work.

wellp, i tried what muay thai said in a provate im convo and i plugged the harness in my car with the ignitors , and fuel pump dissabled, yet, i see nothing. no matter how hard i try, megasquirt will not read the cas at all in any configuration electricall and any configuration in megatune.

i feel like just slapping a goot ole trusty distributor and having at er.

that means most likely that either your CAS is broken, you have the potentiometers adjusted wrong, your configuration is wrong, or your wiring is wrong.

Or you could have something jumpered wrong on the ms board...

In short, it could be any number of things all the way from the CAS to the wiring harness to the solder joints on the MS itself.

well... is there anything i can do with a distributor to make it work with boost? i know a msd btm will do that, but can it be used with the stock distributor and coils from a first gen? i just wann get this thing working.

i dont mind runing withought the coils. infact id perfer to run a distributor. less chances of a messup.

http://froogle.google.com/froogle_cl...le&scoring=mrd

thats what im looking at.
other than the distributor, and coil, is that all i need besides plug wires? well i think i just need one more. i already have some.
