ok so i got my serial to usb, i have it set to the correct port and the buffer turned off. when i go to test connection in megatune the like on the cable blinks and then megatune says its "no response" am i missing somthing??

 

You need to have a properly functioning MS box connected via serial port and powered via 12v in order to connect. Your other thread said you just got the kit yesterday... Are you done already?

did you follow the other steps involving hyperterm to make sure you're getting the echo back thru the bare cable (with pins 2 & 3 connected)? How much of the MS have you built, and do you have the stim card to power it ?

 

didnt find anything about hyperterm and no i dont have the stim card the entire board is built it only took 2-3 hours (i took vocational classes with electronics and my dads an electrical engineer)

 

in the assembly instructions for the board its recommended that you use hyperterminal to check and make sure that your computer/usb-to-serial/serial cable will be able to communicate propperly with the MS, and its the first step in troubleshooting. its on here, about a third of the way down.

forget it i feel like an idiot! i didnt know u had 2 have power for the comp 2 read it prob solved now i just need 2 wire it into the car. thx guys. o yeah does anyone got an NA map??
