Car now difficult to start, dies shortly after

was at least running and driving prior on 2.1.0. Changed to the settings Aaron Cake listed with injector staging (was not staged before) and now the car barely starts and will not stay running. Not sure what ive missed really aside from having no information on if my acceleration wizard settings are jacked up or not.

engine is using a haltech tps with ITBs.

also, my AIC says the air temp is 170 with the car cold and its 52 outside. Its a GM type. Not sure whats up there.

You've drastically cut the amount of fuel since only one injector bank is firing.

You need to increase the whole bottom are of the VE table and also increase your warmup enrichment.

i checked and the wires to the air temp has been severed probably by some woodland creature (figures) so i have no air temp signal. car thinks its 170 degrees. how serious is this for tuning purposes?

also, why wouldnt it work with your VE table numbers and engine constants for idling?

i tried adding adding fuel and it is still doing the same thing. starts then dies. had a back fire on the last one. even if you hold the rpms up it will stay for a second or two, then just stall out.

i need to invest in a wideband see exactly whats going on....

Did you wire the primaries to the proper injector channel? If you are squirting the secondaries you could see similar behavior. Also, if the MS thinks the air temp is 170F it will be dramatically reducing the amout of fuel injected.

i am running a efi hardware ITB. I have it wired similiar in concept to secondaries and primaries (one bank with one injector on each runner) so it should work. I added a ton of fuel to the old table and its improved where it idles and revs.

Also revisit your afterstart enrichment and warmup enrichment. If you were firing all 4 injectors previously and are now firing 2, you are getting half the fuel you once were.

Actually, if you have halved the number of injectors, just double your reqfuel with your old table and settings. That *should* be good enough to make it run well again.
