can't get coil to fire

I have tried everything I can't seem to get the l1-l2 coil to do anything. It worked once for about 3 second then stopped. This is not my first time using ms it worked fine in my turbo bridge car for 2 years. I built a new v3 board for a friends car and can't get it working. The led seem to flash right but nothing at the coils. I replace the coil from a running car and still nothing. I even tried setting up every thing on a bench with coil hook direct to ms and nothing. I did get a good shock of the coil once so there is power there. Just no spark.

I do get a clean rpm in megatune and all reading seem good but no spark at all. I will try to post my MSQ when I fix my laptop.

There are only a few places that could cause this assuming all the settings are right:

1) pullup resistor on the LED isn't there or is not making good contact..
2) wire from the LED to the spare pin via is not good
3) wire from the MS to the coilpack is shorting or otherwise bad.

thanks for the reply MUY I got the bench coil to work I forgot that I was using the stim to power up the ms and 12v battery for the coil. I believe the ms ground to make the coil fire but they were not using the same grounds. When I power up the ms with the battery work great. I think there is a power issue in the car. I need to put everything back into the car and check for power at the coil. I will just run a temporary jumper for leading coil to see if that works.

The car was brought to me with a blow engine so I have no idea what work and what caused the engine to blow.

Yeah, if you have other harness problems that would cause issues. I assumed you had already checked those sorts of things though.

Yes I made my own engine harness with a relay board. I did not think to check the coil part of the harness. I never had a problem like this before. I just assumed it was something I did.
