Megasquirt Aux outputs
So, I've decided that the stock FC gauges suck, and that buying a set of new defi gauges will run me ~1K.
I'm going to be installing a Honda s2000 gauge cluster in my FC.
I have access to an oscilloscope so I can perfect the correct inputs, my problem is that I'm lost when it comes to outputting from MS.
It would probably help if I would buy MS and start assembling, but taxes haven't come in yet... ;D
SO...
Are we limited to a fixed number of output circuits,
Can we change output voltage (and PWM which I'm sure we can)
What would be involved?
Thanks for the response ;D
I like to think that you guys answering my questions have some benefit to other members too...

You can do a tach signal output from MS, but that's about it for sending to a guage cluster. Speedo, water temp, voltage, boost, fuel level, oil pressure or whatever you plan on inputting will need to come from another source. There are a few different circuts to choose from for tach signal, depending on what kind of signal the tach is designed to read from. For example, the stock FC tach reads from the negitive side of the trailing coil, so if you were going to run the stock tach off the mega squirt you would need to build the circut that mimics that kind of signal.
Rly? I know you can send PWM to items like fans, and AUX pumps and such....
The only difference would be some coding changes.
Try not to imaging I'm sending signal to a cluster, but rather to an e-fan with a lower voltage, special PWM and triggered off of coolant temp.

Okay, so someone please tell me I can run an AI pump and an Efan off of my MS...
The third output I need is to output the coolant temp.
It will save me buying a 70$ modifry ECT board.

The PWM controls are pretty specific to their features. Boost is PWM, BAC valve, and probably others that I can't think of off the top of my head. You can probably do hardware and software mods to make it work with these circuts, but chances are if you knew how to do that you wouldn't be here asking these questions.
The only way I have heard of to get readings from the MS comp is either with a laptop plugged in or with a megaview unit. For some reason I recall though that some megaview hardware is not compatible with MSNsE code. DO NOT QUOTE ME ON THIS (i'm tired and don't feel like looking up the info on it right now), but if it will work with your setup it might be something to look into.
