Another newbie: V3 Megasquirt user

I got the megasquirt built and the stim built. Everything works except for rpm. Can you use the stim to test the vr circuit? I have not got the other vr circuit built yet.

Can you test the vr circuit with a CAS?

Yes, you can test the VR Circuit without the CAS and there are two ways to do it. If you adjust the posts on the Megasquirt board, you should be able to get some type of reading while adjust hte posts on the STIM.

The other way is to use the Megatune, once you've loaded the settings from the FAQ onto the megasquirt, you should have an option under the Spark Menu that says Stim for wheel. This simulates a wheel, but allows the posts on the Stim to adjust the RPM which would let you test the circuit.

To test the dual circuit, you will need a CAS to test.

How do you adjust those pots for the first way?

Ok, I have setup megatune with all the setting in the FAQ.
I have try the "stim for wheel" wheel but nothing.

I will check my circuit and megatune settings....but I think they are right.

Thanks guys

You also need to make sure you have the battery connected to the stim, i had that problem.

Withe pots on the megasquirt, i didn't actually need to adjust them to get them to work for a test so i'm not sure.

Another problem!!!!

I have the second VR conditioner built.

I only get rpm with a drill at 1200-1900 RPM and it drops to zero like 5 or 6 times a second.

are you sure you have the Ne and G wires in the right places? If so, you should be fine with the 2 pots on the MS adjusted all the way counterclockwise.

Sorry, guys! I have been busy and have not had time to get it started!

First I need to replace the engine(the engine I have in the car is old and tired). That should be easy so maybe in a few weeks, I will have something working.

Derek

Sorry about the bad grammar above. I have a bad habit of dropping word and 's, 'ed, and 'ing when I type.
