87 FC N/A with MS3x

Howdy all,

So after almost 2 years of owning my 7 and modifying it, about 3 months ago I decided to full stand alone and install a Megasquirt3 with MS3x expansion in preparation for further mods.

Currently my setup is a n/a 13b with headers open exhaust, 02 sensor. Nothing too fancy, just want the base to start the tune with. I'm also using stock injectors, stock fuel pump. stock coils, and stock CAS.

According to my logs "which ill post soon" My spark is perfect and i'm not getting any sync loss or errors. The car starts on first crank and runs at 13 AFR.

The problem I'm having is the car wont hold the idle. after about 30 seconds and maximum 1 minute. The car literally looses all fuel and stalls. Instantly. I'm not exactly sure if its just a setting in my .MSQ or the few emission lines i left in place.
has anyone had this problem? The car wants to run and wants to run nice.. Just suddenly it decided to cut out and stall.

Attatched is my .MSQ

-Cheers!

It would be much easier to diagnose if you post a log of the problem.

Sorry for the delay, I was trying to get a decent enough log.
I know the mixture is rich, but decreasing fuel has not seemed to stop the problem.

Do you have the vacuum line connected? You're not getting any MAP signal change.

Haha! Sorry my mistake :P... I checked it this morning and sure enough I did forget to put the vac line back on. Today after work ill get make a new log, post a new MSQ and a composite log. Either way the out come stays the same where it will only run for a few seconds then it just dies.

Thanks for replying by the way! I'm so close to having it, just a small final hill to climb. :P

Here is another log and my recent msq. The more I mess with the idle control the longer it seems to stay on . I'm not sure if it could be the warm up enrichment or ASE though. Once I touch the gas to try and keep it alive, it dies.

Here is my MSQ and Log from last night. The log should be pretty clear.

You've got a serious problem with your CLT sensor - possibly due to bad grounds. Varies between 88 and 153 within a couple of seconds. Fix that first.

James has preached for a long time that Trigger Angle Offset should be 0. I don't know if that has an effect on how things run.

Your stochiometric AFR is set to 13.7, rather than the more conventional 14.7.

Your non-linear MAT correction curve is filled with 50% correction values. Not sure why you want to do that in conjuntion with your 65% MAT correction value.

BUT, you said it loses all fuel and stalls. On the contrary, it looks to me like it's flooding and then stalls. Before you open the throttle it's running at 3200 RPM with 2.5 ms pulse width, and the AFR is at full rich (10.7) when you open the throttle the pulse width jumps up to over 10 ms. WAY rich.

So to update this thread, I got the car tuned finally! The problem was with the fuel pump the whole time. The last place I would check because all the components worked before the install.

Either way, I installed a walbro and BAM fuel, spark, near perfect tune through all ranges.

All that's left now, is to figure out an issue with the car dieing off of decel and I'm done.
