86 gxl mega squirt issues help!!
Hi so i installed a megasquirt in my fc and programed it with the base maps from the arron cake website it was a previously installed kit for an 88 wired up for direct plug in to the factory harness all the gauges come up on the tuning studio n work n the car gets spark n a map signal nut no fuel. I can pour gas down the throttle body n start it right up till it burns off the fuel... Not sure of the issue n havent had much chance to test n see whats up. Never messed with a stand alone before any advice for a good starting point would be very appreciated...
I have the afm in the car but i have it unhooked when i mess with the megasquirt because its got the map sensor built into it. So the fuel pump runs through the plug for the air flow meter? Is there a way to jump it just to test? Like a wiring diagram showing the plug n what pin goes were?
Ok so i have jumpered the fuel pump n tried to start still with no luck at all it wont even start with fuel down the throttle body it sputters n dies. Im not sure if ive got it tuned properly but i know i have no vacuum issues n no fuel issues n no injector issues of any sort it runs perfect with the factory ecu installed. Not sure what i should check for next or what my next step should be?

Now, as others have mentioned, the stock fuel pump circuit on the S4 NA (and TII) runs through a small switch in the AFM. Without the AFM, the car will not start. In fact, unless the AFM flapper moves, the fuel pump will be cut after cranking.
So, you need to bypass that. Jumpering the yellow test connector forces the pump to run when the key is on. For testing that is a good method. For final installation, NO. The pump should be activated via the Megasquirt's pump output so that it only runs while the engine runs. Imagine flipping the car, meanwhile the pump happily sprays fuel into a fire because the key is still on.
We need more info about this setup. It came from a car exactly like yours? Was it exactly though? Same injectors? Same fuel pump? Same engine? Give us more info.
Post up the MSQ file so we can take a look.
Post a datalog of the startup.

My car is an 86 gxl 13b n/a stock ports no emissions, headers, stock injectors , secondary butterflies delete , no intake port sleeves ,no major mods. The car it came out of was an 88 gxl n/a emissions delete no intake port sleeves no major mods.i can jumper the fuel pump still no luck. Im running my timing just a few degrees advanced from factory. My mega squirt is a plug n play setup i believe its an ms1 it has a built in map sensor. Not sure what other info i could give to help out lol but any suggestions i can try are very very appreciated. Not sure what to try next. Also how in the event of me figuring out my issue do i properly delete my afm so im not running it with out a rollover shut off...

Use TunerStudio to save the MSQ file, then attach it to a post.
To get a datalog, open TunerStudio hit the "Data Logging" menu, then hit "Start Logging". Choose a location for your log.
Now try and start the car several times.
ZIP the log, then attach it to a post.
Can you take some pictures of this Megasquirt wired in place?
