Question 2 Error on Changing Firm Ware

Hello Again,

I am attempting to change from o29Q firm wear to the newer one o29y4.
Icame across 22 erros which I manage to reduce down to two (See Attachment).

1-I know what the first one means and I assume that when I burn the firm wear
to the MS computer in the car and save a new fle this error will not show up is this correct?

2-The second error showing I do not understand.
Could some one explain what it means and what do I have to do to correct it.

3-Even though I set the Map_sensor in the configurator to 250kpa Default MAP SENSOR since V2.2
do I still have to rest my Fuel VE Table 1 up by the 25% that was mentioned in the up grading
information section?

Best Regards
Kim

You can't use an older MSQ file with newer firmware. You need to export the VE table before you upgrade and then import it to the new config. Then set the other parameters by hand.

Also looks like the appropriate INI for your new firmware has not been activated in the Configurator.

VE Table Increase by 25% ????

Thanks Aaron

I'll work it the way you said. But do you know if I still have to ajust the VE table up by that 25% or is that onlly if you use the differant Map sensor 3 and 4?

Best Regards

I Have No Errors

I saved the 029Q files and the VE Tables ECT plus screen shot all my setting to refer to. Then I removed the Main Megasquirt folder from my C drive and put it on my desk top so I can get a fresh start. In this way I would not screw thing up in that folder if I did some thing wrong. I followed Cakes instructions it took some time but it worked out. Now I have to go to the race car CP and send it the firm ware up date.

Still one question about the 25% increaseon the VE tables as they mention in the up grade. I assuming it would not apply if we are not using the 3 and 4 Map sensors. Would this be correct?

Beast Regards

I've never seen the need to increase the VE table. You'll know immediately though if the car is suddenly running lean.
