i believe that the msextra firmware should run it. however i dont think it would be very feasible to control the stock turbos.

The RE uses the same triggers as the 2nd gen 13B, so yes. On a broader note, the Megasquirt will run any engine.

Controlling the turbo system is a whole other matter though. Most people convert them to parallel.

i have decided to go with a single conversion, so pushing the stock turbos won't be an issue.

Hi guys, just wanted to bump this thread. I'm in the process of rebuilding my FD to compete drifting next season and looking at ECU options. I want to map it all myself to learn about the processes. I've already got an Apexi PFC and I was just going to get a datalogit and wideband and do it that way but I've been reading a bit about the megasquirt kit and really like the idea of getting fully into it, building it myself, etc. I'll be running a single turbo conversion so no issues with controlling turbos. I realise you can theoretically run any engine but wanted to know if anyone actually runs an FD on megasquirt and if it is recommended? In particular is everything fine with a turbocharged rotary as their seems to be little information and what I've seen gives the impression its possibly not ideal? may just be the fact I've not looked at much yet.
I'd really appreciate any advice, or suggestions on alternatives.

I've been using MS to control my turbo rotary, and your install will be basically the same. you need to be careful when tuning, but thats the case regardless of ECU choice
